Carmen Gama is a New York based designer born and raised in Mexico. She attended Parsons The New School for Design in New York and graduated with honors and finalist for the ‘Designer of the Year’ Award, Class of 2015. Upon graduation, Carmen’s ‘Sustainable Urban Outerwear’ thesis earned her the inaugural Eileen Fisher x CFDA Social Innovator Fellowship Award. Currently, Carmen is pursuing her residency at Eileen Fisher where she is working collaboratively on designing a closed loop system for the damaged “Green Eileen” garments which will be presented in July.
Carmen has a true passion for Outerwear, sustainable design and technology innovations. She is constantly challenging her design values whether designing clothes with the quality and potential to last a life-time or through consumer education to help foster a relationship between the garment and wearer, ultimately creating more value and personal investment to the design. Carmen has been featured in numerous publications including WWD and Seventeen magazines.
